About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a liaison between assigned business areas and IT
- Understand business goals and objectives and collaborate with business and IT partners
- Collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements
- Collaborate on conceptual solution design options with IT architects, technical staff, and business clients
- Anticipate and define requirements for new or enhanced products, services, and optimized business processes
- Consult on IT strategy and planning, workflow and process design, and product solution development
- Lead and contribute throughout the application lifecycle for development projects
- Lead meetings and communications between IT and the assigned business area
- Lead or oversee workflow analysis for requirements identification
- Evaluate business processes, identify improvement areas, and facilitate solution development and implementation
- Capture, analyze, and document business and user requirements and user stories
- Participate in IT roadmap development
- Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements
- Monitor industry activities and pursue independent learning
- Review business processes and help develop functional optimization strategies
- Develop user documentation, manuals, training materials, and job aids as needed
- Assist with application development and support activities and coordinate internal, external, and business stakeholders
- Create capital project business cases and estimates and present them to the PMO and Finance
- Assess enhancement requests for value and completeness
- Lead or contribute to Business Priority Council meetings
- Participate in procurement events such as RFPs/RFIs and support statements of work
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Three to five years demonstrated application of Business Analysis skills
- Business and general system knowledge
- Ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures
- Exposure to multiple technologies and application development methodologies
- Knowledge of one or more business domains
- Understanding of business process analysis and current/future state process modeling
- Understanding and knowledge of IT standards and controls
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem solving and business process optimization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent independent planning, organizational and time management skills
- Competency in Microsoft O365, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Knowledge of Agile methodology and associated tools such as Jira is highly desired
- Knowledge of financial and cost models, and budgeting
- Ability to manage competing priorities and follow through on commitments
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignments as required
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
- Applicants requiring visa sponsorship to start employment with Eversource will not be considered
- Prior utility industry experience is a plus
- Listed certifications include ECBA, CCBA, CBAP, AAC, CFLBA, CPRE, PMI PBA, and SAFe POPM
