About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Complete basic end-to-end software engineering tasks as part of a team
Perform basic analysis, development, testing, debugging, configuration, incident investigation, documentation, health monitoring and alerting
Implement solutions based on user or system design specifications
Work independently on well-scoped problems within team guidelines
Develop and configure customizations and configurations for Engineering Operations systems
Work with managed service provider teams to prioritize and execute backlog assignments
Make minor system or process changes to solve problems or improve effectiveness
Communicate with internal and external parties and explain work-area policies, practices, and procedures
Work on projects and assignments under direct supervision
Respond to emergency situations and assist outside normal responsibilities, work hours, and location when assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum of 0 to 3 years of relevant experience
Effective use of code version control systems such as Git
Understanding of basic programming and OOP concepts; languages may include Python, JSON, and C++
Understanding of core application development patterns
Experience using data structures
Familiarity with traditional data stores
Familiarity with REST API syntax and tools such as Postman
Familiarity with Agile methodology
Ability to work autonomously with limited supervision
Ability to troubleshoot simple engineering problems using logs, developer tools, and debuggers
Ability to design and implement light- to moderate-complexity solutions using algorithms, structures, and patterns
Ability to work emergency restoration assignments as required
Ability to travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire as necessary
