About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a liaison between business areas and IT
  • Understand business goals, objectives, and needs
  • Collaborate with IT partners to resolve issues and suggest business solutions
  • Collect, clarify, and translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements
  • Collaborate on conceptual solution design with IT architects, technical staff, and business clients
  • Define requirements for new or enhanced products, services, and optimized business processes
  • Consult on IT strategy, planning, workflow and process design, and product solution development
  • Lead throughout the application lifecycle for small and large development projects
  • Lead meetings and communications between IT and assigned business areas
  • Lead or oversee workflow analysis and requirements identification
  • Evaluate business processes and facilitate solution development and implementation
  • Capture, analyze, and document business requirements, user requirements, and user stories
  • Participate in IT roadmap development
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and champion change
  • Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements
  • Monitor industry activities and identify potential solutions and best practices
  • Conduct business process reviews and develop functional optimization strategies
  • Develop user documentation, manuals, training materials, and job aids as needed
  • Facilitate application development and support activities and coordinate internal, external, and business teams
  • Develop capital project business cases and estimates and present them to the PMO and Finance
  • Assess enhancement requests for value and completeness
  • Lead or contribute to Business Priority Council meetings
  • Support procurement events and statements of work

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years demonstrated application of Business Analysis skills
  • Business and general system knowledge
  • Ability to quickly learn new applications, processes, and procedures
  • Exposure to varied technologies and application development methodologies
  • Participation in a large project
  • Knowledge of one or more business domains and how domains relate to solutions
  • Business process analysis and current/future state process modeling
  • Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM), specifically demand management best practices and controls
  • Knowledge of IT standards and controls
  • Ability to collaborate with business and technical roles and influence stakeholders at different management levels
  • Analytical thinking, problem solving, and business process optimization skills
  • Written, verbal, and persuasion skills
  • Independent planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Competency in Microsoft O365, Teams, OneDrive, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology and tools such as Jira, VSTS, or other Agile applications is highly desired
  • Knowledge of financial and cost models and budgeting
  • Ability to balance long-term and short-term solution implications
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and follow through on commitments
  • Ability to lead small high-performing teams
  • Experience with ESRI / ArcFM GIS Enterprise
  • Experience participating in procurement events (RFP/RFI) and developing statements of work
  • Must be available for emergency restoration assignments
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
  • Prior utility industry experience is a plus
  • Listed certifications include ECBA, CCBA, CBAP, AAC, CFLBA, CPRE, PMI PBA, and SAFe POPM
