About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and execute the EE/EV/ADR public relations strategy
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for EE/EV/ADR public relations and thought leadership initiatives
  • Partner with Eversource’s Media Relations team and external PR partners
  • Manage external PR and advertising agencies
  • Lead PR calls, initiatives, planning, and execution
  • Develop and coordinate outreach and engagement plans to increase awareness of EE/EV/ADR solutions and enhance customer interaction
  • Lead thought leadership initiatives and identify strategic opportunities such as speaking engagements, event sponsorships, conferences, awards, white papers, and executive visibility
  • Review and recommend strategic event opportunities supporting business objectives, brand positioning, customer engagement, and industry leadership
  • Represent EE/EV/ADR at industry conferences, trade associations, thought leadership events, and other external engagements
  • Collaborate with internal customers, business and sales management directors, and marketing outreach and communications teams
  • Coordinate copywriters, graphic designers, photographers, PR agencies, and other vendors to meet deadlines, budgets, and brand requirements
  • Serve as a primary editorial resource, ensuring consistency, quality, accuracy, and alignment with Eversource messaging and objectives
  • Build relationships with industry associations, external organizations, and strategic partners
  • Analyze PR, thought leadership, event, and outreach opportunities for strategic value
  • Maintain PR, thought leadership, event, and outreach calendars
  • Ensure alignment with business objectives, corporate principles, and Eversource brand standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Business, Journalism, Sustainability or related discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years related experience
  • Minimum of five years of public relations, corporate communications, marketing communications, or related experience
  • Expert-level use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong writing, editing, media relations, project management, and presentation skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
  • Approximately 10% travel
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Experience working with or communicating to policymakers, government agencies, industry associations, regulators, and other influential stakeholders preferred
  • Experience in sustainability, clean energy and/or energy efficiency industry desired
  • Experience in public policy, legislative communications, government affairs, or related fields is a plus
  • Proven track record of managing public relations, communications, thought leadership, events, special projects, and external engagement initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience managing external agencies and internal stakeholders and delivering complex projects within established timelines and budgets
