About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead Engineering, Operations, and IT technical project teams through successful execution of assigned projects within Distribution Communications Engineering
  • Define project tasks and develop, track and drive project schedules
  • Manage delivery scope, schedule and budget
  • Coordinate stakeholders involved in design, planning, execution and commissioning of wireless communications systems
  • Plan and execute Operations and IT tasks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure adherence to project methodology and production of high-quality deliverables
  • Report project quality and status to the Manager of Distribution Communications
  • Manage resources across disciplines and develop project strategies and tactics
  • Communicate project issues and decisions with stakeholders and steering committees
  • Monitor risks, issues and interdependencies affecting scope, schedule, cost or solution alignment
  • Oversee project approval documentation, including scope, technical solutions, risks, budget and timeline
  • Analyze project progress against budget, schedule and scope and manage change control
  • Prepare and deliver written and oral project status reports
  • Ensure timely and accurate project submittals
  • Initiate and monitor labor and material purchase orders and change requests
  • Maintain project budgets and provide regular financial projections
  • Collaborate with System Operations, Engineering, IT, Operations, Finance, Communications, Community Relations, Regulatory, Legal, Real Estate and Procurement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline
  • Minimum of eight (8) years related industry experience
  • At least two (2) years of experience managing teams and projects related to the delivery of an Operational Technology system
  • Knowledge of and experience with electric distribution system operations required
  • Fully knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of the project management Body of Knowledge
  • Experience managing large complex Operational Technology projects with multiple tracks
  • Experience with Microsoft Project software
  • Basic understanding of electrical distribution system operations, including SCADA systems, electrical connectivity, distributed energy resources, communication infrastructure, technical communications protocols and device interoperability
  • Experience managing projects in the electric distribution industry
  • Strong communication, leadership, organizational, collaboration, process orientation, problem-solving, interpersonal and motivational skills
  • Ability to lead teams, manage diverse resources, analyze project information, identify risks and make recommendations
  • Ability to work with stakeholders, sponsors, vendors, project managers, technical staff, senior management, government agencies and outside organizations
  • Ability to work up to five days in the office if needed
  • Must be able to work in the United States without immigration-related sponsorship from Eversource
