About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage large, complex transmission projects in Massachusetts within a multi-external-stakeholder environment
- Ensure approved project phases are completed efficiently, within scope, on schedule, and within budget
- Collaborate with Transmission Asset Management, Transmission Planning, Design, Land Planning, Construction and Test, Finance, Regulatory Relations, Legal, and Purchasing
- Manage projects with elevated financial exposure and communicate directly with senior management
- Represent Eversource as expert witness for ISO-NE CSC and other regulatory evidentiary proceedings
- Coordinate regulatory approvals and interface with regulators, local elected officials, and town department managers
- Manage development and evaluation of bid documents for engineering, design, construction, materials, and support systems procurement
- Ensure project documentation and completion comply with company policies, regulations, and laws
- Manage high-risk projects such as major substation builds or expansions, interconnection agreements, transmission line construction, and other financially significant projects
- Own project scope, schedule, and budget
- Present to senior management, governmental agencies, and outside organizations
- Prepare written responses for local, state, and federal regulatory proceedings
- Lead municipal, homeowner, and interested-party meetings
- Guide and develop less experienced personnel
- Manage team-member performance through expectations, standards, and timely feedback
- Support Major Projects and travel regularly to Westwood, MA
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferred), or bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or equivalent degree; equivalent experience will be considered
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Minimum five (5) years of Project Management or related experience, with time potentially supplemented by competencies commensurate with Project Manager II experience
- Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License required
- Thorough knowledge of Project Management principles and practices
- Very high standards of professional and project management competence demonstrated through experience
- Proven leadership, teambuilding, coaching, problem solving, interpersonal, and motivational skills
- Ability to schedule, plan, and manage numerous complex transmission projects concurrently
- Ability to represent Eversource professionally at municipal meetings
- Highly developed communication, presentation, writing, listening, persuasion, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze project information, determine facts, assess underlying issues, and make well-thought-out recommendations and decisions
- Ability to interpret information and align project decisions with Corporate and Transmission Business strategic plans
- Ability to assess team members’ abilities and motivational levels and adapt leadership styles
- Availability for emergency restoration assignments as required
- Availability to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
- Must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed or if policy changes
