About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage large, complex transmission projects in Massachusetts within scope, schedule, and budget
  • Coordinate with Transmission Asset Management, Transmission Planning, Design, Land Planning, Construction and Test, Finance, Regulatory Relations, Legal, and Purchasing
  • Manage high-risk projects such as major substation builds or expansions, interconnection agreements, and transmission line construction
  • Own project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Coordinate regulatory approvals and interface with regulators, local elected officials, and town department managers
  • Manage development and evaluation of bid documents for engineering, design, and construction
  • Manage procurement of materials and support systems
  • Ensure projects are documented and completed according to company policies, regulations, and laws
  • Prepare written and oral presentations for senior management, government agencies, and outside organizations
  • Prepare written responses for local, state, and federal regulatory proceedings
  • Represent Eversource at ISO-NE CSC and other regulatory evidentiary proceedings as an expert witness
  • Lead municipal, homeowner, and interested-party meetings
  • Guide and develop less experienced personnel
  • Manage team-member performance through expectations, standards, and timely feedback
  • Communicate with senior management regarding projects with elevated financial exposure
  • Respond to emergency restoration assignments outside normal responsibilities, hours, and location when required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred, or bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, equivalent degree, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of Project Management or related experience
  • Experience may be supplemented by demonstrating competencies commensurate with Project Manager II experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Project Management principles and practices
  • Demonstrated high standards of professional and project management competence
  • Proven leadership, teambuilding, coaching, problem-solving, interpersonal, and motivational skills
  • Ability to schedule, plan, and manage numerous complex transmission projects concurrently
  • Ability to represent Eversource professionally at municipal meetings
  • Highly developed communication, analytical, presentation, persuasive, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret project information and formulate recommendations and decisions
  • Ability to assess team members’ abilities and motivational levels and adapt leadership styles
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License required
  • Must be available for emergency restoration assignments
  • Must be available to travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire as necessary
  • Must be able to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and up to five days in the office if needed
