About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Project Risk, Earned Value Management (EVM), and Project Performance processes, methodologies, procedures, and services
- Provide training and coaching to Project Controls team members and functional groups using risk and EVM processes and tools
- Develop and maintain risk management and EVM policies and procedures
- Review and update Project Risk Management and EVM Plans with stakeholders
- Lead and coordinate PRM and EVM activities, including risk-register reviews, risk-requiring-action reviews, project and portfolio performance reviews, forensic cost and schedule analysis, and status reporting
- Update risk registers to reflect risk exposure, mitigation efforts, and residual risks
- Evaluate EVM performance and recommend corrective actions
- Implement risk management and EVM tools and provide ongoing guidance to project teams and stakeholders
- Foster proactive risk management and strong EVM performance within project environments
- Collaborate with Project Management, Investment Planning, Operations, Contract Administration, Planning & Scheduling, Engineering, Procurement, Materials Management, Estimating, and Project Performance teams
- Oversee quantitative risk analysis using EVM, Monte Carlo simulation, sensitivity analysis, and probabilistic modeling
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of risk assessment and EVM results
- Produce risk and EVM metrics; interpret CPI, SPI, and quantitative risk-analysis results to identify trends and emerging risks
- Provide recommendations on EVM performance, risk levels, response strategies, and project-control actions
- Monitor risk and EVM performance against the Transmission Capital Portfolio and execution readiness
- Perform forensic/root-cause analysis of cost, schedule, and scope performance and drive corrective or preventive actions
- Prepare written reports, presentations, and correspondence
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, IT, accounting, finance, business/management or related degree is required, or equivalent experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience is required
- Robust understanding of project management principles, processes, methodologies, and practices
- Knowledge of risk management, EVM, finance, and analytics
- Experience implementing systems and migrating/integrating data from multiple source systems
- Proficiency in Monte Carlo analysis, statistical modeling, and data-driven decision-making
- Working knowledge of project management, risk management, cost controls, scheduling techniques, and PMIS
- Ability to facilitate discussions, gain consensus, develop action plans, and drive implementation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to present to large audiences
- Ability to work effectively with various organizational levels and shifting/conflicting priorities
- Must be available for emergency restoration assignments
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
- Utility and Energy Delivery experience preferred
- Oracle Primavera P6 or OPC scheduling experience preferred
- PMP, RMP/ISO 31000, and Six Sigma certifications highly desirable
