About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support early-stage development of strategic electric transmission projects and initiatives
  • Perform electricity market simulation modeling, data analysis, and industry research
  • Develop and execute economic analyses for the ISO-NE control area
  • Develop, troubleshoot, document, and maintain zonal and nodal energy market and capacity expansion models in PLEXOS
  • Pre-process data inputs and post-process simulation results
  • Analyze, interpret, graph, and document energy market simulation results
  • Research and analyze policies and studies affecting Eversource’s transmission business and modeling assumptions
  • Provide data, simulation outputs, and transmission-business knowledge to other Eversource groups
  • Collaborate with engineers and analysts to inform electric transmission development and clean-energy growth
  • Respond to emergency situations and perform assigned emergency restoration work outside normal responsibilities, hours, or location when required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Environmental Science, a related discipline, or four (4) years of equivalent experience
  • Five to eight years related experience
  • Significant experience in energy market analysis, energy contract negotiation, power system modeling, electric transmission planning, or electric transmission policy
  • Working knowledge of ISO-NE wholesale markets or transmission planning procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to use Microsoft Suite, including advanced MS Excel functions such as lookup functions, pivot tables, and Power Query
  • Must be available for emergency restoration assignments as required
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
  • Applicants requiring immigration-related visa sponsorship to start employment will not be considered
  • All applicants must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed
