About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Apply domain technology to solve business problems in a supportable and cost-effective way
  • Assess current capabilities and future needs to identify changes to domain technologies or practices
  • Develop standards, reference architectures, solution guidelines, metrics, patterns, and building blocks
  • Develop integrated multi-domain capabilities addressing common needs
  • Evaluate technology trends and practical applications of existing, new, and emerging technologies
  • Define high-level migration plans between current and future states
  • Lead analysis of the current technology environment and industry and market trends
  • Coach, mentor, and collaborate with technical subject matter experts and Enterprise Architecture
  • Research, evaluate, and select hardware and software technology and product standards
  • Develop and deliver standards and configurations for new technology and lead its evolution to mainstream use
  • Incorporate domain standards, practices, guidance, and roadmaps into Eversource architecture processes
  • Identify organizational and financial impacts of technology architecture changes and guide implementation
  • Lead and manage technical architects, peers, and subject matter experts
  • Participate in Enterprise Architecture processes as the domain expert
  • Consult with and oversee solution architects using multiple domain technologies
  • Integrate delivery of new domain capabilities into solution work, managing risk and optimizing outcomes
  • Govern solutions spanning multiple technologies and domains; review and approve designs and implementations

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in an IT Architect or Lead Subject Matter Expert role
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience working with technology or application solutions, including architecture, design, implementation, support, and management
  • Exposure to multiple technical PC configurations, technologies, and processing environments
  • Exposure to and understanding of desktop application environments, including licensing automation, SSO configuration, and software packaging
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio
  • Knowledge of technology domain architecture, current technology and vendors, emerging capabilities, best practices and patterns, cost models, and management and operating model considerations
  • Understanding of system development life cycle methodologies
  • Understanding of IT service management (ITSM)
  • Understanding of IT standards and controls
  • Must be available for emergency storm assignments
  • Must be available to travel between MA, CT, and NH as necessary
  • Must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed
  • No licenses or certifications required
  • Advanced degree is a plus
