About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage a portfolio of strategic Massachusetts Electric Sector Modernization Plan transmission line and substation projects from early-stage development through handoff to the Project Management Organization
- Lead and oversee cross-functional project teams across System Planning, Engineering, Siting, Real Estate, Legal, Project Management, Engagement, Regulatory Affairs, Environmental Affairs, and other stakeholders
- Establish and organize ongoing development plans
- Vet strategic solutions consistently with company safety and procurement policies
- Develop project schedules and budgets for early-stage strategic projects and oversee implementation before execution
- Support development and documentation of company policies for strategic transmission project development and execution
- Maintain familiarity with policies and programs facilitating transmission development
- Develop project success metrics and track project-level and ESMP program progress
- Facilitate stakeholder discussions and information exchange to advance strategic transmission projects
- Represent Eversource Transmission on committees, groups, associations, public meetings, regulatory hearings, town halls, and special meetings
- Brief the Manager and Director of Strategic Project Development on project status and action items
- Coordinate with relevant company departments and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, business discipline, related degree, or equivalent experience
- Ten (10) years of related experience, including successful project development
- Project management experience
- Understanding of onshore development of electric infrastructure projects, such as solar or wind
- Experience developing competitive infrastructure projects and knowledge of electric transmission and distribution systems preferred
- Ability to develop and present reports within the organization
- Strong computer and analytical skills
- Ability to work across permitting, engineering, real estate, interconnection, finance, and community engagement
- Ability to make timely decisions using multidisciplinary early-stage project development information
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to varied audiences
- Valid Driver’s license is required
- Must be available for emergency restoration assignment as required
- Must be able to work at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays
- Must be able to work up to five days in the office if needed or if policy changes
