About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on selected project costs for Eversource transmission projects
  • Research and analyze data sources including blanket purchase orders and labor rate agreements
  • Develop and maintain estimating and cost-monitoring metrics
  • Analyze bids, project scope changes, invoices, internal labor/contractor costs, material costs, and equipment costs for inclusion in the estimating database
  • Reconcile project costs to establish accurate historical project data
  • Develop metrics for estimate accuracy, scope-change cost impacts, and original estimates and scope
  • Drive process improvement throughout pricing and estimating
  • Minimize company exposure and project risk
  • Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, and productivity analysis reports
  • Maintain cost monitoring and reporting systems
  • Support development and maintenance of cost estimates and tracking actual costs against budgets for major construction projects
  • Collect information regarding changes and adjustments to cost estimates

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, engineering or related field or equivalent experience is required
  • Five plus years of cost engineering or related experience required
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluation of project costs and other data sources
  • Knowledge of estimating requirements and contract administration techniques
  • Knowledge of types of contracts
  • Ability to interface, communicate and coordinate activities with estimating personnel and other departments
  • Understanding of transmission and substation business lines
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to prepare clear and concise written, oral or graphical reports
  • Must be available for emergency storm assignments as required
  • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary
