About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Operate large excavators in line with mine plans and design tolerances
- Maintain dig faces, floor RLs, batters and haul roads to maximise efficiency
- Complete pre-starts, identify defects and operate equipment within limits
- Use MineStar GPS to ensure accuracy and report system issues
- Contribute to safe, productive shifts through clear communication and teamwork
- Participate in pre-starts, toolboxes and continuous improvement
- Deliver daily mining targets while maintaining safety, environmental and equipment standards
- Report to the Shift Supervisor
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ years’ experience operating excavators on a mine site
- Proven experience on large production excavators in open cut mining
- Open to relocating to West Wyalong
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Strong safety awareness and hazard identification skills
- Good mechanical sympathy and attention to detail
- Ability to work a rotating roster and perform in a team environment
