About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own delivery of LLM-powered systems in Python and TypeScript from ambiguous customer problem through production operation
Set evals and guardrails strategy, release gates, production signals, and historical-claims simulations
Improve team practices for agentic coding tools, including specifications, instruction files, hooks, and permission policies
Design NLP pipelines converting unstructured claim data into actionable structured data
Build and operate durable, event-driven, multi-tenant systems with deterministic workflows
Design failure modes, replay semantics, and cost profiles for agentic systems
Own tracing and audit so model calls and agent steps can be reconstructed and cited
Establish privacy and security baselines including tenant isolation, least-privilege access, redaction, retention, and model-provider data controls
Author design documents, review designs and code, and mentor engineers
Participate in a shared on-call rotation
In the first six months, gate model changes with evals and demonstrate maintained or improved accuracy

Requirements

What you’ll need

6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including an LLM-powered system architected, shipped to external customers, and carried through at least one model or prompt migration
Python and TypeScript expertise, including async models, typing strictness, test strategy, and performance profiling
Experience setting evals and guardrails strategies for a product area
Daily production use of Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar agentic coding tools
Experience designing pipelines blending LLMs, semantic search, and classical NLP
Experience designing durable, event-driven systems with deterministic orchestration, compensating actions, idempotency, backpressure, and event-sourced replay
Data modeling across relational, document, and graph databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Neo4j
Experience operating systems on Azure or AWS with CI/CD and infrastructure as code
Hands-on experience with Temporal or Durable Task Scheduler
Experience authoring technical design documents spanning multiple teams
Clear writing and discussion for technical and non-technical audiences
Video interview required
