About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the highest-level technical point of contact for payroll, HR, and social security reporting matters
  • Monitor employment and regulatory developments and distribute practical summaries to the teams
  • Review or arbitrate complex or high-risk cases
  • Oversee the quality and accuracy of payroll processing
  • Design and distribute standardized internal tools, templates, and procedures
  • Represent EXCO AVEC on the EXCO network’s payroll committee
  • Contribute to the practice’s business development activities, including tenders, commercial proposals, and client or prospect meetings
  • Identify opportunities for additional payroll and HR services
  • Represent the firm before external partners on employment and social security matters
  • Contribute to the development of the payroll and HR service offering
  • Monitor the payroll department’s workload and alert the partners in the event of an imbalance
  • Recommend scheduling and case-allocation adjustments
  • Contribute to the ongoing training and professional development of payroll administrators
  • Participate in the recruitment of payroll administrators by providing technical expertise
  • Retain a portfolio of technically complex payroll accounts and participate in payroll and social security contribution audits

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s to Master’s degree in payroll administration, human resources, or a related field
  • A BTS/DUT-level qualification combined with significant relevant experience will also be considered
  • At least 5 years of experience in payroll administration
  • Significant experience in an accounting firm or in a multi-collective-agreement environment
  • Previous experience in technical supervision, serving as a subject-matter expert, or delivering internal training is a strong advantage
  • Expert knowledge of employment and social security legislation, social security reporting (DSN), and URSSAF audit procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of several collective bargaining agreements
  • Excellent command of one or more payroll software solutions (Silae, Sage, Cegid, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of business development and client relationship management in an accounting firm
  • Influential leadership and the ability to build consensus without direct managerial authority
  • Strong teaching skills and the ability to communicate technical knowledge effectively
  • Client-service orientation and an interest in business development
  • Diplomacy and the ability to work with multiple partners
  • Thoroughness, reliability, and the ability to manage priorities during peak workloads
