About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the highest-level technical point of contact for payroll, HR, and social reporting matters
  • Monitor social and regulatory developments and distribute actionable summaries to teams
  • Review or arbitrate complex or high-risk cases
  • Oversee the quality and reliability of payroll processing
  • Design and distribute standardized internal tools, templates, and procedures
  • Represent EXCO Avec on the EXCO network’s payroll committee
  • Contribute to the division’s business development efforts
  • Respond to requests for proposals and develop commercial proposals
  • Present payroll and social services to clients and prospects
  • Identify opportunities for additional social services engagements
  • Represent the firm with external partners
  • Contribute to developing the payroll and social services offering
  • Monitor workload and alert partners in the event of an imbalance
  • Recommend scheduling and case-allocation adjustments
  • Contribute to ongoing training and the professional development of payroll administrators
  • Participate in recruiting payroll administrators by providing technical expertise
  • Maintain a portfolio of technically complex payroll accounts and participate in payroll and social-contribution audits
  • Exercise cross-functional authority without direct line-management responsibility

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s to master’s degree in payroll management, human resources, or a related field
  • A BTS/DUT qualification combined with significant relevant experience will also be considered
  • At least 5 years of payroll management experience
  • Significant experience in an accounting firm or an environment involving multiple collective bargaining agreements
  • Experience providing technical supervision, serving as a subject-matter expert, or delivering internal training is highly desirable
  • Expert knowledge of employment and social legislation, social reporting (DSN), and URSSAF audit procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of multiple collective bargaining agreements
  • Excellent command of one or more payroll software platforms (Silae, Sage, Cegid, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of business development and client relationship management in an accounting firm
  • Influential leadership and the ability to build consensus without direct line-management authority
  • Strong teaching skills and confidence communicating technical knowledge
  • Client-service orientation and an interest in business development
  • Diplomacy and the ability to work with multiple partners
  • Highly organized, reliable, and able to manage priorities during peak periods
