About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the highest-level technical point of contact for payroll, HR and social reporting matters
  • Monitor social legislation and regulatory developments, and provide teams with concise, operational summaries
  • Review or make decisions on complex or high-risk cases
  • Oversee the quality and reliability of the firm’s payroll production
  • Design and distribute standardized internal tools, templates and procedures
  • Represent EXCO AVEC on the EXCO network’s payroll committee
  • Contribute to the business development of the payroll and HR services division
  • Respond to tenders and present payroll and social services offerings to clients and prospects
  • Identify opportunities for additional payroll and HR engagements
  • Represent the firm before external partners on payroll and HR matters
  • Contribute to the development of the payroll and HR service offering
  • Monitor the payroll department’s workload and alert the partners in the event of an imbalance
  • Recommend adjustments to schedules and case allocation
  • Contribute to ongoing training and the professional development of payroll administrators
  • Participate in the recruitment of payroll administrators by providing technical expertise
  • Maintain a portfolio of technically complex payrolls and participate in payroll and social contribution audits

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s to Master’s degree in payroll management, human resources or a related field
  • A BTS/DUT or equivalent qualification combined with significant relevant experience will also be considered
  • At least 5 years of experience in payroll management
  • Significant experience in an accounting firm or a multi-collective-agreement environment
  • Previous experience in technical supervision, serving as a subject-matter expert or delivering internal training is a strong advantage
  • Expert knowledge of employment and social legislation, social reporting (DSN) and URSSAF audit procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of several collective bargaining agreements
  • Excellent proficiency in one or more payroll software platforms (Silae, Sage, Cegid, etc.)
  • Good understanding of business development and client relationship management in an accounting firm
  • Influential leadership and the ability to build consensus without direct reporting authority
  • Strong training and knowledge-transfer skills
  • Customer-service orientation and an interest in business development
  • Diplomacy and the ability to work with multiple partners
  • Thoroughness, reliability and the ability to manage priorities during periods of high workload
