About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the highest-level technical point of contact for payroll, HR and social security reporting matters
- Monitor social and regulatory developments and distribute an operational summary to the teams
- Review or arbitrate complex or high-risk cases
- Ensure the quality and reliability of the firm’s payroll processing
- Design and distribute standardized internal tools, templates and procedures
- Represent EXCO AVEC on the EXCO network’s payroll committee
- Contribute to the business development of the payroll and social services department
- Respond to requests for proposals and prepare commercial proposals
- Present payroll and social services offerings to clients and prospects
- Identify opportunities for additional social services engagements
- Represent the firm with external partners
- Contribute to developing the firm’s payroll and social services offering
- Monitor the payroll department’s workload and alert the partners as needed
- Recommend scheduling and portfolio allocation decisions
- Contribute to continuing education and the development of payroll specialists’ skills
- Participate in recruiting payroll specialists by providing technical expertise
- Maintain a technically complex payroll portfolio and participate in payroll and social security contribution audits
- Exercise cross-functional authority without direct line-management responsibility
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s to master’s degree in payroll administration, human resources or a related field
- A BTS/DUT-level qualification combined with significant relevant experience will also be considered
- At least 5 years of payroll administration experience
- Significant experience in an accounting firm or in a multi-collective-agreement environment
- Previous experience providing technical leadership, serving as a subject-matter expert or delivering internal training is a strong advantage
- Expert knowledge of employment and social security legislation, social security reporting (DSN) and URSSAF audit procedures
- In-depth knowledge of several collective bargaining agreements
- Expert proficiency in one or more payroll software systems (Silae, Sage, Cegid, etc.)
- Good understanding of business development and client relationship management in an accounting firm
- Influential leadership and the ability to gain buy-in without direct line-management authority
- Strong teaching skills and the ability to communicate technical knowledge effectively
- Client-service orientation and an interest in business development
- Diplomacy and the ability to work with multiple partners
- Thoroughness, reliability and the ability to manage priorities during peak workloads
