About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the senior technical point of reference for payroll, HR and social-security reporting matters
- Monitor social and regulatory developments and share operational summaries with the teams
- Review or make decisions on complex or high-risk cases
- Monitor the quality and reliability of payroll processing
- Design and distribute standardized internal tools, templates and procedures
- Represent EXCO AVEC on the EXCO network’s payroll committee
- Contribute to the practice’s business development activities
- Respond to calls for tender and prepare commercial proposals
- Present payroll and social-services offerings to clients and prospects
- Identify opportunities for additional social-services assignments
- Represent the firm with external partners
- Contribute to developing the payroll and social-services offering
- Monitor the payroll department’s workload and alert the partners as needed
- Recommend scheduling and case-allocation adjustments
- Contribute to ongoing training and the development of payroll specialists’ skills
- Participate in recruiting payroll specialists by providing technical expertise
- Maintain a portfolio of technically complex payroll accounts and participate in payroll and social-contribution audits
- Exercise functional authority over payroll specialists without direct line-management responsibility
- Act as liaison with partners, key clients, payroll software vendors and social-security agencies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s to Master’s degree in payroll administration, human resources or a related field
- A BTS/DUT qualification combined with significant relevant experience will also be considered
- At least 5 years’ experience in payroll administration
- Significant experience in an accounting firm or in a multi-collective-agreement environment
- Previous experience as a technical supervisor, subject-matter expert or internal trainer is a strong advantage
- Expert knowledge of social legislation, social-security reporting (DSN) and URSSAF audit procedures
- In-depth knowledge of multiple collective bargaining agreements
- Excellent command of one or more payroll software solutions (Silae, Sage, Cegid, etc.)
- Good understanding of business development and client relationship management in an accounting firm
- Influential leadership and the ability to gain buy-in without direct line authority
- Strong teaching skills and the ability to communicate technical knowledge effectively
- Client-service orientation and an interest in business development
- Diplomacy and the ability to work with multiple partners
- Meticulous, reliable and able to manage priorities during peak periods
