About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the highest-level technical point of contact for payroll, HR, and social security reporting matters
- Monitor social and regulatory developments and provide teams with an operational summary
- Review and make decisions on complex or high-risk cases
- Monitor the quality and reliability of the firm’s payroll processing
- Design and distribute standardized internal tools, templates, and procedures
- Represent EXCO Avec on the EXCO network’s payroll committee
- Contribute to the business development of the payroll and social services practice, including tenders, commercial proposals, and client or prospect meetings
- Identify opportunities to develop additional payroll and social services engagements
- Represent the firm before external partners on social and employment-related matters
- Contribute to developing the payroll and social services offering
- Monitor the payroll department’s workload and alert the partners in the event of an imbalance
- Recommend decisions regarding scheduling and client portfolio allocation
- Contribute to ongoing training and the professional development of payroll specialists
- Participate in the recruitment of payroll specialists by providing technical expertise
- Retain a portfolio of technically complex payroll accounts and participate in payroll and social security contribution audits
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s to Master’s degree in payroll management, human resources, or an equivalent qualification
- A BTS/DUT or equivalent higher education qualification combined with significant relevant experience will also be considered
- At least 5 years of experience in payroll management
- Significant experience in an accounting firm or a multi-collective-agreement environment
- Previous experience in technical supervision, serving as a subject-matter expert, or providing internal training is a strong asset
- Expert knowledge of employment and social security legislation, social security reporting (DSN), and URSSAF audit procedures
- In-depth knowledge of several collective bargaining agreements
- Excellent command of one or more payroll software solutions (Silae, Sage, Cegid, etc.)
- Good understanding of business development and client relationship management in a professional services firm
- Influential leadership and the ability to build commitment without direct line-management authority
- Strong teaching skills and the ability to communicate technical knowledge effectively
- Customer-service mindset and interest in business development
- Diplomacy and the ability to work effectively with multiple partners
- Attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to manage priorities during peak periods
