About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the highest-level technical point of contact for payroll, HR and social security reporting matters
  • Monitor employment and regulatory developments and provide teams with practical summaries
  • Review and arbitrate complex or high-risk cases
  • Oversee the quality and reliability of the firm’s payroll production
  • Design and distribute standardized internal tools, templates and procedures
  • Represent EXCO AVEC on the EXCO network’s payroll commission
  • Contribute to the Payroll/HR division’s business development
  • Respond to tenders and present payroll and social services to clients and prospects
  • Identify opportunities to develop additional payroll and HR engagements
  • Represent the firm with external partners
  • Contribute to the development of the payroll and social services offering
  • Monitor the payroll department’s workload and alert the partners as needed
  • Recommend scheduling and client-file allocation decisions
  • Contribute to ongoing training and the professional development of payroll specialists
  • Participate in the recruitment of payroll specialists by providing technical expertise
  • Maintain a portfolio of technically complex payroll accounts and participate in payroll and social security contribution audits

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s to master’s degree in payroll administration, human resources or a related field
  • A completed BTS/DUT combined with significant relevant experience will also be considered
  • At least 5 years of experience in payroll administration
  • Significant experience in an accounting firm or in a multi-collective-agreement environment
  • Previous experience as a technical supervisor, subject-matter expert or internal trainer is a strong advantage
  • Expert knowledge of employment legislation, social security reporting (DSN) and URSSAF audit procedures
  • In-depth knowledge of multiple collective bargaining agreements
  • Excellent command of one or more payroll software solutions (Silae, Sage, Cegid, etc.)
  • Good understanding of business development and client relationship management in an accounting firm
  • Influential leadership and the ability to gain buy-in without direct managerial authority
  • Strong teaching skills and the ability to communicate technical knowledge effectively
  • Customer-service orientation and an interest in business development
  • Diplomacy and the ability to work with multiple partners
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability and the ability to manage priorities during peak workloads
