About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyze project requirements to understand testing effort
Estimate testing time, resources, and budget and obtain management support
Organize testing kick-off meetings
Define the test strategy
Build and assign work to a testing team
Identify training requirements and communicate them to the Project Manager
Develop test plans covering tasks, dependencies, participants, and quality risks
Arrange hardware and software requirements for the test setup
Test end-to-end data warehousing systems from data modeling through reporting
Turn gathered requirements into ETL and reporting test cases and scripts
Author test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test scripts
Document, implement, monitor, and enforce testing processes according to organizational standards
Review test case documents and reports prepared by test engineers
Track new and changed project requirements
Escalate project requirement issues to the Project Manager or Senior Test Manager
Organize status meetings and send daily and weekly status reports to the client
Attend regular client calls and discuss weekly status
Act as the single point of contact between development and testers
Track testing results, test coverage, resources, defects, defect status, and performance baselines
Ensure timely delivery of testing milestones
Prepare and update metrics dashboards at phase or project completion

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's Degree / Graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Basic understanding of Excel and visualization tools
Working experience in PowerBI, Tableau, or similar visualization tools
Understanding of batch and real-time data processing
Understanding of Agile processes, including Scrum cadences, roles, and deliverables
Working experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar tools
Understanding of testing effort through project requirement analysis
Experience defining test strategies and developing test plans, test cases, and test scripts
Experience testing reporting, especially Power BI
Experience validating KPIs against requirements and Databricks/databases
End-to-end data warehousing experience from data modeling to reporting
Hands-on database and reporting testing experience
Hands-on experience with at least one scripting/programming language, such as Python
Ability to write complex SQL queries
Working experience with Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift, or similar databases
Experience with automation testing using Java, Python, or similar
Ability to understand and write functional specifications, technical specifications, business rules, and data rules
Understanding and working experience with AWS services, including S3, Lambda, Athena, and EMR
Experience documenting and maintaining testing artifacts and processes
Experience reviewing test case documents
Ability to track changing project requirements
Ability to organize status meetings and prepare client status reports
Strong client communication skills
Bachelor's degree is required as the stated educational credential
