About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with Finance and business stakeholders to understand current processes, requirements, challenges and improvement opportunities
- Gather, analyse and document functional and business requirements for finance transformation initiatives
- Translate Finance requirements into clear functional requirements for technology and implementation teams
- Support the design and implementation of new finance processes, systems and technology solutions
- Map as-is and to-be processes, identifying opportunities for simplification, standardisation and automation
- Support system implementation activities including requirements definition, process design, testing and business readiness
- Collaborate with Finance, Technology, Data and other stakeholders throughout transformation initiatives
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test scenarios, issue identification and resolution
- Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve Finance processes, productivity and decision-making
- Apply Microsoft Copilot, Claude and other Generative AI technologies to practical business and Finance use cases
- Produce process documentation, functional specifications, requirements and supporting project materials
- Support stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle and keep business requirements aligned with delivered solutions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong experience as a Functional Business Analyst, Business Analyst or Finance Transformation Analyst
- Strong understanding of Finance and Accounting processes and how Finance functions operate
- Recognised accounting qualification such as ACCA, ACA/CA or CIMA is highly desirable
- Strong accounting background and relevant experience may also be considered
- Demonstrable experience working on finance transformation programmes or initiatives
- Hands-on experience supporting system implementations, ideally within a Finance environment
- Experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements and translating these into practical solutions
- Strong process mapping, requirements analysis and stakeholder management skills
- Experience supporting testing, UAT and implementation activities
- Practical experience using Generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot or Claude within Finance or a broader business environment
- Ability to identify practical opportunities where AI, automation and technology can improve Finance processes and ways of working
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work across Finance and Technology stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced transformation environment and taking a hands-on approach to delivery
- Experience within a finance transformation, CFO advisory, consulting or professional services environment
- Exposure to finance technology or ERP transformation
- Experience supporting process improvement, automation or digital transformation initiatives within Finance
- Experience translating Finance requirements for technical, data or engineering teams
- Must already be eligible to work in the United Kingdom
