About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead end-to-end delivery of data, analytics, and business intelligence projects for insurance clients
Partner with client stakeholders and EXL leadership to define requirements, scope projects, and translate insights into recommendations
Maintain trusted advisor relationships and serve as the primary day-to-day contact for delivery, escalations, and strategic alignment
Provide technical direction to onshore and offshore teams across data engineering, reporting, visualization, and predictive modeling
Design and develop Power BI and/or Tableau dashboards and reporting solutions for underwriting, claims, pricing, and portfolio performance
Support RFP/RFI responses, capability presentations, and opportunity identification
Identify analytics expansion opportunities across insurance portfolios, including underwriting, loss reserving, claims, and profitability
Facilitate client working sessions and project status meetings; communicate progress, risks, and issue resolution
Manage project operations across dual-shore delivery models and resolve blockers
Ensure data governance, analytics methodology, and BI standards are followed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related analytics field (Required)
10+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or analytics consulting, including at least 3 years in a team lead or client-facing delivery role (Required)
Domain experience in insurance—commercial lines, specialty lines, or broader BFSI—with understanding of underwriting, claims, pricing, or loss reserving (Strongly preferred)
Hands-on proficiency in Power BI or Tableau, including production-grade dashboards and executive reporting (Required)
Strong working knowledge of SQL and at least one of Python or SAS (Required)
Experience managing and mentoring offshore or dual-shore analytics teams, including workload planning, career development, and quality review (Required)
Business development experience, including RFP/RFI responses, capability decks, and client solutioning workshops (Preferred)
Strong client management skills and experience presenting complex analytical findings to business and technical audiences (Required)
Financial services or insurance analytics experience with exposure to commercial and specialty lines products, pricing models, or portfolio profitability analytics (Strongly preferred)
Understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud-based data platforms (Preferred)
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to translate complex data into clear business narratives and actionable insights (Required)

Ability to work collaboratively across cross-cultural, global teams spanning multiple time zones (Required)
