About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform accounting activities such as journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and annual book close cycles
- Collaborate with the team to meet deadlines and troubleshoot production issues
- Create financial statement schedules, audit support schedules, and other reports
- Highlight potential issues for management attention
- Assist in documenting internal controls and perform assigned internal control processes such as general ledger reconciliations
- Identify and help resolve issues by understanding data flows through financial systems to accounting
- Suggest improvements to business value and work efficiency
- Participate in department projects and continuous improvement activities
- Share expertise to accomplish shared goals
- Ensure timely and accurate journal uploads and keep the tracker updated
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in commerce or finance, or qualified/semi-qualified professional accountant (Graduate (Finance), Post-Graduate (Finance), BBA, MBA, CA, CMA, CS)
- 5–7 years of experience
- Very good understanding of US insurance and Insurance Finance
- Experience working for various lines of business such as Auto, GL, Property, and WC
- Exposure to both Commercial and Personal insurance
- Very good knowledge and understanding of insurance terminology
