About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Directly engage with client stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business needs into reporting solutions
Lead the design and development of Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models
Drive report UX/UI, ensuring dashboards are intuitive, actionable, and business-focused
Develop and optimize complex DAX measures, data models, and Power Query transformations
Integrate data from multiple sources and ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency
Leverage AI capabilities within Power BI, including Copilot, Smart Narratives, Q&A, and other AI-assisted features
Proactively identify reporting opportunities, recommend improvements, and drive analytics initiatives
Own reporting delivery through independent execution
Lead and mentor a team of 3-5 Power BI developers, resolving technical blockers and guiding work allocation
Present insights and recommendations to business stakeholders through data storytelling
Maintain governance, security, performance optimization, and documentation standards
Lead data engineering strategy across projects and drive innovation and optimization
Represent the team in executive meetings and develop long-term data plans

Requirements

What you’ll need

8+ years of BI/Analytics experience with strong expertise in Power BI
Advanced knowledge of DAX, Power Query (M), data modeling, and semantic models
Experience building executive and operational dashboards with strong focus on visualization and user experience
Hands-on experience with Power BI Copilot and AI-enabled features
Strong understanding of data analysis, KPI design, and business reporting
Experience integrating data from SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, Azure/Fabric, or similar platforms
Ability to work independently with client stakeholders and drive requirements through delivery
Proven experience leading or mentoring a team of 3-5 resources
Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and proactive approach
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
8-10 years of experience in data engineering or related field
Good-to-have: Background in Financial Services
Good-to-have: Knowledge of Azure platforms
Good-to-have: Exposure to Python, SQL optimization, or advanced analytics
Good-to-have: Experience establishing reporting governance and Power BI best practices
Good-to-have: Knowledge of responsible AI practices and Copilot governance
