About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and manage the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Record to Report capabilities
Prioritize product investments based on client needs, market relevance, business value, implementation feasibility, and measurable Finance outcomes
Own the product lifecycle from discovery and concept validation through build, release, adoption, performance optimization, and product enhancement
Lead discovery workshops with controllers, accounting teams, shared services leaders, and R2R operations
Translate business requirements into product requirements, process flows, functional designs, user journeys, epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and non-functional requirements
Design configurable solutions for journal preparation and approval, balance-sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, close task management, intercompany matching, and reporting workflows
Define AI and automation use cases and partner with AI, data science, and engineering teams on production-ready features
Create and maintain product requirement documents, prioritized backlogs, release plans, and product documentation
Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, product reviews, user acceptance readiness, and release sign-off
Coordinate engineering, QA, UX, data, security, compliance, and implementation workstreams
Act as a trusted product advisor during client discovery, solutioning, design workshops, demonstrations, and implementation governance
Support RFP/RFI responses, solution proposals, effort estimation, product positioning, and first-engagement solutioning
Define and track product and business metrics, identify enhancement opportunities, and drive change adoption through rollout plans and feedback loops

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's/Master's in Engineering
9-12 years of total experience, with strong exposure to Finance transformation, digital products, or enterprise technology solutions
At least 4-5 years of product management, product ownership, consulting, or solution-design experience, including ownership of roadmaps and delivery backlogs
Strong functional knowledge of R2R processes, including general ledger, journals, account reconciliation, intercompany, fixed assets, month-end close, consolidation, and financial reporting
Experience delivering products or transformation programs from ideation through design, build, testing, deployment, adoption, and continuous improvement
Working knowledge of ERP and Finance platforms such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle Fusion, BlackLine, Trintech, OneStream, or similar solutions
Understanding of cloud platforms, APIs, data integration, master data, security, controls, and enterprise architecture concepts
Experience working in Agile product teams
Ability to write clear PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and executive-ready product narratives
Working proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as SQL, Excel, Power BI, or Tableau is preferred
CSPO, SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager, or equivalent certification is preferred
Experience in Finance and Accounting transformation, shared services, consulting, or enterprise SaaS product organizations
Hands-on exposure to controllership, close transformation, reconciliation automation, or financial reporting modernization
Experience creating demos, thought leadership, client proposals, and business cases for R2R transformation products
