About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support fundraising operations, maintain investor tracking and program budgets, and manage payment milestones for participating companies
  • Help early-stage companies launch and stay accountable to timelines and milestones
  • Review monthly financials with outside accountants and maintain budgets across the studio and projects
  • Manage insurance applications, quote review, underwriting, renewals, and certificates with the broker
  • Own agendas, inputs, and follow-ups for weekly operations meetings, pipeline reviews, and monthly business reviews
  • Onboard and offboard project teams, including tools, accounts, and administrative support
  • Coordinate project teams and outside counsel on trademarks, patents, terms, privacy policies, consulting agreements, and NDAs
  • Manage entity registrations, compliance agents, and third-party services
  • Meet with project leads, track open threads to closure, and escalate issues to leadership
  • Serve as the default point of contact for teams
  • Plan and run events and professional development programming

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4-8+ years of experience in operations, chief of staff, or program management roles
  • Meaningful experience inside a venture fund, private equity firm, accelerator, or startup
  • Ability to operate independently and make decisions without being given a queue
  • Good judgment about which decisions to make independently, report, or escalate
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and creating processes from scratch
  • Ability to read a monthly P&L, manage close calendars, build and maintain budgets, and identify anomalies
  • Comfort with entity setup, insurance, registrations, and working with outside counsel and accountants
  • Tech savvy and fluent in Mac OS and Google Suite (Calendar/Drive/Sheets/Docs)
  • Understanding of confidentiality and discretion
  • Excellent verbal communication and relationship-building skills
