About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor and forecast global grain production, supply, and demand trends
- Analyse weather, crop competitiveness, production costs, policy changes, and economic developments
- Track international trade flows, stock levels, consumption patterns, and pricing dynamics across major grain markets
- Build, maintain, and enhance global grain balance sheets and forecasting models
- Deliver market outlooks, intelligence reports, and actionable insights to stakeholders
- Represent Expana as a recognised grain market expert
- Lead client discussions, presentations, webinars, and training sessions
- Attend industry conferences and engage with key market participants
- Contribute expert insight to strengthen Expana’s reputation and market presence
- Mentor, coach, and support a team of analysts
- Foster curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Improve analysis, processes, and product quality
- Promote innovation and analytical excellence across the team
- Report to the Senior Manager - Grains & Oilseeds
Requirements
What you’ll need- 5-10 years of experience analysing commodity or agricultural markets
- Strong understanding of global grain markets and key supply and demand drivers
- Ability to interpret large datasets and translate findings into clear commercial insights
- Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills with confidence engaging clients and senior stakeholders
- Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
- Fluent English language skills, written and verbal
- Previous people management or team leadership experience
- Additional language skills, French ideally
- Experience presenting market insights to clients or industry audiences
- Right to work in the hiring location; Expana cannot sponsor or provide work visas
