About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead Business Analysis activities across multiple products and development squads
- Understand business problems, user needs, product objectives and desired outcomes
- Facilitate requirements elicitation through workshops, interviews, discovery sessions and stakeholder discussions
- Analyse, document and validate functional and non-functional requirements
- Translate business needs into actionable requirements for development teams
- Produce functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria and analysis documentation
- Maintain requirements traceability and manage requirement changes throughout the development lifecycle
- Analyse As-Is processes and design To-Be processes
- Map business processes, system interactions, user journeys and proposed changes
- Identify opportunities to simplify, automate or improve processes using software and AI-enabled capabilities
- Work with development squads through discovery, requirements definition, development, testing and release
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, Product Managers and technical teams
- Define functional behaviour, business rules, workflows, user interactions, data requirements and system responses
- Develop wireframes and lightweight solution designs
- Clarify requirements and resolve ambiguity during development
- Review solutions and prototypes against requirements and business outcomes
- Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, demonstrations, reviews and other Agile activities
- Support Product Managers with product roadmaps, feature prioritisation and development plans
- Assess value, complexity, dependencies and impact of proposed product changes
- Identify reusable capabilities across products and squads
- Translate AI capabilities into practical product and client solutions
- Define requirements, expected outcomes, business rules and acceptance criteria for AI-enabled features
- Assess AI integration with existing products, processes and user journeys
- Identify risks, assumptions, dependencies and constraints for AI-enabled solutions
- Build relationships with senior stakeholders, clients, Product Managers, developers, designers and technical specialists
- Communicate analysis, options, recommendations, risks and decisions to technical and non-technical audiences
- Define acceptance criteria and support test scenarios
- Support functional, integration and user acceptance testing
- Investigate defects and requirement gaps
- Support product releases and validate delivered functionality against intended business outcomes
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field, or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of Business Analysis
- Relevant Business Analysis qualification such as BCS or IIBA certification is desirable
- Ability to produce detailed functional specifications
- Strong process modelling and business process analysis skills, including defining As-Is and To-Be processes
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile product development practices
- Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple products, squads and stakeholder groups
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and multiple concurrent workstreams
- Familiarity with APIs, system integrations, data flows and modern application architectures
- Significant experience as a Senior Business Analyst in a software or product development environment
- Proven experience gathering, analysing, documenting and managing complex business and functional requirements
- Strong experience working with development squads and technical teams throughout the software development lifecycle
- Experience with bespoke software or application development
- Experience producing wireframes, user journeys or solution design artefacts
- Experience translating business needs into user stories, functional requirements, acceptance criteria and actionable development work
- Experience supporting product roadmaps, prioritisation or development planning
- Experience within the legal or financial services sector
- Experience with AI-enabled products or solutions, AI technology partners or AI product development teams
- Experience defining requirements for AI, automation or intelligent workflow solutions
- Experience contributing to product strategy, product discovery or product management
- Experience across a portfolio of related products with shared capabilities and dependencies
- Experience with client-facing software products or SaaS solutions
- Experience with UX, service design or user-centred design approaches
- Experience with third-party technology providers or development partners
