About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as a trusted Business Analyst and consultant to business and operational stakeholders
- Lead workshops, interviews, process analysis and requirements elicitation across retail and hospitality operations
- Analyse business problems and existing processes to identify simplification, standardisation and improvement opportunities
- Translate business needs into requirements, user stories, process models and actionable recommendations
- Facilitate collaboration between business stakeholders, technology teams, Product Owners and delivery teams
- Apply practical knowledge of pub, hospitality, drinks retail and/or licensed retail operations
- Analyse sales, ordering, stock management, replenishment, promotions, pricing, product management, supplier management and customer engagement processes
- Define requirements for POS, PIM, inventory, supply chain, CRM, cloud platforms and related systems
- Analyse product data, inventory, stock, supply chain processes, integrations and data flows
- Support cloud migration and data platform transformation programmes
- Define requirements for data ingestion, transformation, storage, quality, access and consumption
- Support analytics, MI, reporting, dashboards and data products
- Define customer, CRM, data, reporting and KPI requirements
- Support replatforming, platform replacement, implementation, transition, testing, cutover and adoption activities
- Perform current-state and future-state analysis, gap analysis and dependency identification
- Work within Agile delivery teams on refinement, planning, prioritisation and delivery
- Support solution design, UAT, implementation and business readiness
- Analyse and manage business impacts, dependencies, risks and issues associated with change
Requirements
What you’ll need- Relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in Business Analysis, Business, Retail, Hospitality, Technology or a related discipline
- Relevant Business Analysis qualification such as BCS Business Analysis Diploma, IIBA or equivalent would be advantageous
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in Data, Cloud, Analytics would be advantageous
- Relevant retail, hospitality, supply chain, CRM, PIM or technology certifications would be advantageous
- Strong Business Analysis and consultancy skills, including requirements elicitation, process analysis, workshop facilitation, stakeholder management and problem solving
- Strong understanding of the relationship between business processes, operational systems, data and technology
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working as a Business Analyst within Retail, Hospitality, Food & Beverage, Leisure or a closely related consumer-facing environment
- Practical experience within pubs, hospitality or licensed retail operations
- Experience with POS systems and retail transaction processes
- Experience of replatforming, platform replacement or major technology transformation
- Experience of inventory, stock management and/or supply chain processes
- Experience with PIM or product data management solutions
- Experience with CRM or customer management solutions
- Experience of cloud migration or cloud transformation programmes
- Experience with data platforms, data transformation or data and analytics programmes
- Experience supporting data migration, including mapping, transformation, cleansing, validation and reconciliation
- Experience analysing system integrations, interfaces and data flows
- Experience translating business requirements into functional requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments
- Experience with enterprise or cloud-based POS platforms
- Experience with PIM platforms and product catalogue solutions
- Experience with retail inventory, warehouse management or supply chain systems
- Experience with CRM, customer loyalty or marketing platforms
- Experience with ERP, finance or procurement systems supporting retail operations
- Experience with e-commerce, mobile ordering, delivery or omnichannel retail
- Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence and reporting platforms
- Experience supporting large-scale retail technology transformation or systems implementation programmes
- Experience working within a Data & Analytics Centre of Excellence or similar capability
- Experience with modern cloud data platforms, data lakes, data warehouses or lakehouse architectures
- Knowledge of Robotic Process Automation, intelligent automation, Machine Learning or AI-enabled solutions, AI and data governance, data catalogues, data lineage and master data management
