About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle, including estimating, technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment, and application support
Work with solution architects and developers to translate wireframes and creative designs into functional requirements and technical designs
Apply clean code principles and Test Driven Development
Collaborate regularly with international team members
Work closely with the Technical Team Lead and Senior Developers and respond to their guidance and support
Attend and contribute to sprint ceremonies, including planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Understand UMG’s complex business domain and existing code-based solutions
Ensure user-story acceptance criteria are met and limit QA failures
Produce high-quality code using Test Driven Development
Work with new architectures, cloud-based infrastructures, microservices, and modern ways of working
Diagnose issues using debugging, logging, and tools such as NewRelic
Work with business users to identify and resolve production issues

Requirements

What you’ll need

Excellent professional experience of C# and the .NET Core ecosystem
Professional experience with React and test frameworks such as Jest
Experience using containerised systems, with some experience with ECS or Kubernetes
Experience writing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Tekton, or similar
Professional experience using JavaScript and TypeScript
Experience with message-based architecture (SNS/SQS or similar)
Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases; Postgres and JSON data type preferred
Test Driven Development
Understanding of design patterns and principles such as SOLID and GO4 (desirable)
Experience working in an Agile-based project delivery environment
Ability to refactor code
Ability to work in a complex and fast-moving domain
Continuous Integration
Familiarity with other data stores, including cloud-based managed offerings
AWS Cloud or similar such as Azure
Experience building React components based around Bootstrap
Ability and willingness to work with a remote team with minimal cross-over
Ability to self-learn and motivation to understand code written by others
Ability to work with business users to identify and resolve production issues
Must be able to work on LA time zone
Preferred location: Brazil or Portugal
