About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide independent technical checking of engineering drawings and 3D models
Ensure drawings and models are correct, manufacturable, and compliant with BS8888:2020 Technical Product Specification
Check mechanical drawings for dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, surface texture, and welding symbols
Verify CATIA V5 and/or Creo 3D CAD models against 2D drawing packs and design intent
Ensure compliance with DEF-STAN 00-970, JSP 886, MOD standards, and company procedures
Raise Design Queries, ECNs, and NCs in Windchill and support closure with design engineers
Support design reviews, FAI, and configuration management
Collaborate with manufacturing and quality teams at a secure customer site

Requirements

What you’ll need

Previous delegated checker experience checking mechanical designs
CAD experience with CATIA V5 and Creo
Enovia experience
Detailed understanding of BS8888 and GD&T
Good understanding of engineering theory and principles
Ability to work to a high standard with minimum supervision
Ability to work collectively as part of a group
Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and to project gateway requirements
Strong problem-solving capability and ability to manage multiple tasks
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Good understanding of Office packages, including Excel for data recording, analytical reports, and documentation
Ability to interpret analytical and numerical data and collate significant volumes of data
SC clearance is required
Ability to work in a secure site environment
