About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Administer, configure and support the client network across Cisco and HP Aruba switching and wireless
- Manage SonicWall devices and Fortigate firewalls, including rules, policies, firmware and health
- Support site-to-site and remote-access VPN connectivity and troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Support networking for the VMware virtualised environment
- Complete start-of-day checks on network health, monitoring and alerts
- Support SD-WAN implementation, including site migrations, testing and handover into BAU
- Support LAN and Wi-Fi refresh programmes through design input, configuration, cutover and validation
- Participate in bi-weekly sprint meetings and deliver assigned ADO work items
- Handle ITSM incidents and service requests tracked in ADO, owning incidents through resolution and RCA
- Raise, document and implement network changes through CAB
- Communicate with technical and business stakeholders during incidents and changes
- Escalate to and work with vendors when issues exceed internal support
- Automate repetitive configuration, backup and compliance checks where possible
- Apply network security standards and least-privilege access
- Maintain network diagrams, configurations and runbooks in Confluence
Requirements
What you’ll need- Hands-on network engineering experience across Cisco and HP Aruba (switching, routing, wireless)
- Firewall experience with Fortigate and SonicWall
- VPN configuration and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting networking in VMware environments
- Experience with ITSM processes (incident, request, change including CAB) and ADO boards
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- SD-WAN implementation and migration experience (desired)
- LAN and Wi-Fi refresh/deployment experience, including wireless surveys (desired)
- Network automation/scripting, e.g. Python and Ansible (desired)
- Certifications such as Cisco CCNA/CCNP, Aruba ACMA/ACMP, or Fortinet NSE (desired)
