About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Work as part of firmware teams to deliver firmware projects to agreed time, cost, and quality
Verify firmware using Hardware Verification Languages or Hardware Description Languages
Design firmware using Hardware Description Languages
Enhance firmware-related processes through documenting, scripting, reporting, and process automation
Work closely with multidisciplinary teams
Lead firmware architecture and design activities
Architect verification test benches and verification environments
Deliver complex FPGA/firmware implementations from requirements through verification
Apply object-oriented design principles to verification and firmware development
Develop image-processing solutions and associated algorithms
Create and validate algorithms using MATLAB

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree level qualification in a relevant subject such as Electrical/Electronic Engineering
Membership or fellowship of a professional engineering body, preferably with or working towards chartered status
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in VHDL, Verilog, and SystemVerilog
SystemVerilog/C++ verification experience
Experience with OSVVM, UVVM, and advanced VHDL verification
Experience with IBM Rational DOORS
Experience with ModelSim and QuestaSim
Experience with FPGA vendor toolchains
Knowledge of PCIe, Ethernet, serial communications, and AXI4
Object-oriented design knowledge
Image processing and algorithms experience
MATLAB experience
UK, Irish, or dual nationality
SC clearance without caveats
Ability and willingness to travel to and work hybrid, attending the client's Belfast site 3 days per week
