About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Interface with the UK-based team to understand technical issues, specifications, and requirements
Check and approve complex analyses of jigs and installation support structures for marine projects
Undertake finite element analysis simulations, typically using Abaqus CAE or STAAD Pro
Work with the customer to determine solutions for failed simulations
Write, check, and approve analysis reports
Produce quality output within project budgets and time constraints amid potentially changing requirements
Apply correct processes, specifications, procedures, and techniques with support from specialist teams
Mentor and develop stress engineering team members

Requirements

What you’ll need

BEng Degree in Engineering discipline
Deep knowledge of structures, design and project delivery
Experience with design/analysis of structural steelwork, including jigs and fixtures
Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards
Knowledge of Eurocode 3
Knowledge of Crane code
Knowledge of the Machinery Directive
Experience of analysis checking and approval
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to lead and inspire engineering teams, manage multiple projects, and drive results
Minimum 10 years’ experience undertaking finite element analysis, with Abaqus preferred
Minimum 10 years’ experience in hand analysis
English essential
