About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage delivery of large end-to-end programmes and defined client work packages
- Direct and manage the full software testing lifecycle for complex insurance transformation programmes
- Manage teams and provide guidance to business users and others
- Own resourcing and planning for all IT testing activities
- Provide consultancy, guidance, advice, and recommendations on test techniques and phases
- Perform quality reviews of client testing practices
- Develop improvement plans for client documentation and processes
- Manage implementation of recommendations using best-practice templates and processes
- Build and implement an independent testing governance framework
- Develop strategies and direct teams across complex programmes
- Facilitate workshops and requirements-gathering sessions
- Assess project risks and describe associated risk levels
- Ensure deliverables meet agreed cost, timescale, resource, and sign-off requirements
- Use project planning tools and plan future resource needs
- Design overall test plans and processes
- Define standards for test scripts and testing assets
- Specify test environments across the testing lifecycle
- Allocate and coordinate test schedules, work, and resource plans
- Manage activity progress and delivery deadlines
- Diagnose problems and develop potential solutions
- Implement corrective and preventative actions for complex issues
- Advise clients on test tooling solutions and risk management strategies
- Contribute to proof-of-concept exercises and pre-sales opportunities
- Identify opportunities to expand client assignments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field, or equivalent work experience
- ISTQB certification
- Extensive technical knowledge and experience with complex IT programmes within insurance, particularly London Markets, advantageous
- ISTQB Advanced desirable
- Excellent client-facing skills
- People management skills
- Teamwork and emotional intelligence
- Good self-management
- Innovative approach
- Strong theoretical knowledge of quality assurance methodologies
- Experience applying standards and specialist quality assurance expertise
- Extensive application, technology, and domain knowledge
- Recognised expertise in QA management
- Experience managing change control procedures
- Experience providing technical management
- Experience diagnosing problems using formal problem-solving tools and techniques
