About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage delivery of large end-to-end programmes and defined client work packages
- Direct and manage the full software testing lifecycle for complex insurance transformation programmes
- Manage teams and provide guidance to business users
- Own resourcing and planning for all IT testing activities
- Provide consultancy, guidance, advice, and recommendations on test techniques and phases
- Take overall responsibility for testing activities
- Review clients’ testing practices and identify improvement opportunities
- Manage implementation of documentation and process improvements using best-practice templates
- Build and implement an independent Testing Governance framework
- Develop strategies and direct teams across complex programmes
- Facilitate workshops and requirements-gathering sessions
- Assess project risks and advise on risk management strategies
- Ensure deliverables meet agreed cost, timescale, resource, and sign-off requirements
- Use project planning tools and plan future resource needs
- Design overall test plans and processes
- Define standards for test scripts and testing assets
- Specify and maintain test environments across the testing lifecycle
- Coordinate test schedules, work, and resource plans
- Track activity progress and meet delivery deadlines
- Diagnose complex problems and develop potential solutions
- Implement corrective and preventative actions
- Advise clients on appropriate test tooling solutions
- Contribute to proof-of-concept exercises and pre-sales opportunities
- Identify opportunities to expand client assignments
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field, or equivalent work experience
- ISTQB certification
- ISTQB Advanced desirable
- Extensive technical knowledge and experience with complex IT programmes within insurance, particularly London Markets, advantageous
- Excellent client-facing skills
- People management skills
- Teamwork and emotional intelligence
- Good self-management
- Innovative approach and creative problem-solving
- Strong theoretical knowledge of quality assurance methodologies
- Experience applying standards and specialist quality assurance expertise
- Extensive application, technology, and domain knowledge
- Recognised expertise in QA management
- Experience managing change control procedures
- Experience providing technical management
- Experience diagnosing problems using formal problem-solving tools and techniques
