Principal Enterprise Architect / Lead Advisor

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Engage stakeholders across business and technology teams to develop and evolve enterprise strategies, digital roadmaps, and target architectures
- Develop architecture guidance, principles, standards, and recommendations
- Collaborate with business, application, data, integration, infrastructure, and platform teams
- Provide architecture leadership through governance processes, forums, and decision-making activities
- Build trusted relationships and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Coach and mentor architecture practitioners and contribute to the evolution of architecture practices and standards
- Apply operational architecture concepts and capabilities to strategic planning and solution design
- At Level 18: Contribute to enterprise strategy, digital roadmaps, target architectures, governance, and transformation initiatives
- At Level 19: Lead the evolution of strategy, governance, and transformation; participate in strategic, investment, and transformation decisions; define opportunities to evolve business capabilities
- Connect business objectives to technology implementation and contribute to the evolution of EDC’s target technology state
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business administration, or another field related to enterprise architecture
- At least 7 years of experience in enterprise architecture (Level 18) or 10 years of experience in business or enterprise architecture (Level 19)
- Proven experience developing technology strategies, roadmaps, models, and architecture guidance
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise architecture, business architecture, business capabilities, platform strategy, SaaS ecosystems, APIs, integration patterns, and modern technology implementation practices
- Proven ability to influence outcomes within cross-functional teams and with stakeholders at all levels
- Ability to think strategically, act tactically, and ensure operational execution
- Strong communication, facilitation, relationship management, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in architecture governance, architecture principles, and enterprise planning processes
- At Level 19: Experience defining or managing enterprise architecture or business architecture frameworks
- At Level 19: Demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and guide strategic decision-making across the organization
- At Level 19: Experience managing business capability models, operating models, or transformation frameworks
- Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada at the time of application; Canadian citizens and permanent residents are preferred
- Candidates must meet government security requirements
