About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Define and execute test strategies and plans aligned to solution architecture, delivery timelines, and quality objectives
Design, write, and execute manual and automated test cases for functional, integration, regression, and selected non-functional requirements
Design, implement, and maintain test automation frameworks and scripts
Integrate automated tests into development and CI/CD lifecycles
Identify, document, track, and retest defects
Collaborate with development teams to ensure timely defect resolution and quality outcomes
Support and validate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
Align test outcomes with business requirements and collaborate with business users
Collaborate with developers, product owners, Scrum Masters, business testers, and other stakeholders throughout agile delivery
Report testing progress, risks, and quality metrics
Improve delivery confidence, reduce regression risk, and enable faster, higher-quality releases
Contribute as a member of the Insurance Squad within the Digital Platform Delivery and Architecture group

Requirements

What you’ll need

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field
Minimum 5 years’ experience in QA test automation or software development
Minimum 5 years’ experience in web application testing, including functional, usability, security, and performance testing
Minimum 3 years’ experience testing backend services (API) and application integration points
Minimum 2 years’ Agile working experience
Advanced knowledge of IT systems development principles and practices
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or other requirements/defect management tools
Able to work legally in Canada at the time of application; Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents preferred
Must meet requisite government security screening requirements
Experience or knowledge of the credit insurance domain is an asset
Knowledge of database management and SQL is an asset
Experience with AI-assisted code development using GitHub Copilot is an asset
Experience with Python and Robot Framework is an asset
Experience with Postman is an asset
Programming/scripting skills in Python, Java, or Selenium are an asset
Experience with CI/CD pipelines is an asset
