About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the daily operations of one or more self-storage locations under the guidance of the District Manager and Store Manager
- Maintain high cleanliness standards and operational excellence
- Build and maintain customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions
- Identify storage needs and provide tailored solutions
- Maximize sales through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies
- Perform continuous site maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, and grounds maintenance
- Conduct daily site safety inspections, including lock checks
- Address customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage
- Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with Extra Space employees
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1+ year of customer-facing work experience
- Sales experience preferred
- Current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle; except in New York City and Brooklyn
- High School diploma or GED is required; college education is a plus
- Ability to perform indoor and outdoor responsibilities with varying physical demands and exposure to seasonal weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, sit, and lift
- Regularly lift or move items up to 35 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Experience in sales, customer service, retail, hospitality, property management, leasing, rental, cashiering, or related roles encouraged
