About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build and operate AI agents and automation producing recurring program reporting using Claude and Claude Code integrated with enterprise systems
  • Own the AI and automation roadmap, prioritizing work by effort saved and risk reduced
  • Guide Technology Assurance, Risk and Policy teams on appropriate AI and agentic AI applications
  • Establish safe and consistent AI adoption practices across the function
  • Define verification of AI output, including reconciliation and source-data checks on every run
  • Set standards for agent scoping, prompt and context engineering, repeatability testing, documentation and sensitive-data handling
  • Advise program leadership on AI suitability, conventional alternatives, cost, risk and effort
  • Evaluate AI tooling and models and introduce valuable solutions
  • Build resilient, supportable automation with error handling, secure credential management, logging, alerting, version control and documentation
  • Work with IT and Information Security to secure approvals, connectivity and ongoing support for AI tooling
  • Represent the program’s AI and automation position to senior stakeholders and governance forums
  • Develop AI engineering capability through reusable components, documented patterns and practical working sessions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 10 years of experience in software, automation or data engineering, including significant time as a senior individual contributor with technical ownership of production systems
  • Demonstrable experience building production solutions with Claude, including Claude Code and the Claude Agent SDK
  • Experience designing end-to-end agentic workflows
  • Practical prompt and context engineering, including testing model output for reliability and repeatability
  • Strong Python, including document and data workflow automation with python-pptx, python-docx, openpyxl and pandas, or equivalent
  • Microsoft platform experience with Power Apps, Power BI, Dataverse, Copilot Studio and Microsoft Graph
  • Production experience with Power Automate or another major enterprise workflow automation platform, including error handling and unattended runs
  • Track record of automating a recurring operational or reporting process end to end, with demonstrable outcomes
  • Experience building reliable unattended systems with error handling, credential management, logging, alerting and scheduling
  • Experience working with large datasets from multiple systems, including reconciliation and assessing data support for conclusions
  • Experience setting technical standards through reviews, shared components or documented patterns
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • Strong English communication skills and ability to work with diverse, globally distributed teams
  • Experience integrating AI tooling with enterprise systems and data sources preferred
  • Experience introducing AI tooling into a governed enterprise environment preferred
  • Experience evaluating models or agent frameworks and making adoption recommendations preferred
  • Experience delivering security, technology risk or audit reporting to senior audiences preferred
  • Familiarity with vulnerability management data and tooling preferred
  • Experience coaching or building technical capability in non-engineering colleagues preferred
  • Relevant cloud, data or security engineering certification preferred
