About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a project lead and/or member of multiple global client engagement teams
  • Understand client needs, conduct analyses and report results
  • Work on and manage real estate advisory, valuation and due diligence engagements
  • Perform financial and cash flow modeling, analytical model reviews, property and portfolio modeling, asset valuations, appraisals and appraisal reviews
  • Analyze multi-family residential, office, retail, hotel, industrial, mixed-use, infrastructure and special-use properties
  • Research market information and conduct market studies
  • Analyze real estate documents, including site/building plans, leases, appraisals and mortgage underwriting/lending documents
  • Perform asset valuation for PPA/fair value
  • Write reports
  • Maintain and develop professional relationships with EY offices globally
  • Supervise, develop and mentor Staff and Senior professionals
  • Manage and counsel a team of 1–2 professionals when given the opportunity
  • Use current technology and tools to enhance service effectiveness
  • Promote knowledge sharing and contribute to team spirit
  • Perform ad hoc projects as requested

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s in business administration (MBA) specialized in Finance
  • 5+ years of direct work experience in real estate valuation projects
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong knowledge of valuation of real and intangible assets using Income Approach, Net Asset Value Method and Precedent Transaction Analysis
  • Knowledge of developing valuation models and highest and best use valuation analysis
  • Proficiency with real estate research databases including LoopNet, REIS, RCA, CoStar, CBRE, JLL, C&W, Capital IQ, One Source, Factiva and Reuters
  • Experience analyzing financial statements, conducting market research studies and preparing reports
  • Knowledge of Free Cash Flows, Terminal Value, Discount Rate, WACC and advanced MS Excel models
  • Strong knowledge of key lease clauses, including options, economic terms and terminations
  • Willingness and ability to travel when necessary
  • Excellent analytical, project management, communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
