About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the main GDS point of contact for tasks assigned by global client-serving assurance teams
- Manage the timeliness and quality of engagement deliverables and day-to-day operations
- Support a portfolio of engagements by leading Assistant Managers, Seniors and Associates
- Ensure timely, high-quality work in accordance with EY methodology and engagement team expectations
- Support quality projects, including pre-issuance reviews, assurance quality reviews and efficiency projects
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with assurance executives and global engagement team counterparts in the Americas and Europe
- Apply EY risk management procedures within engagement team work
- Transition new engagements and services to GDS Assurance while maintaining high service quality
- Manage workflow, allocate resources, monitor performance, utilization and budget-to-actuals
- Establish expectations regarding value delivered to aligned GDS and engagement teams
- Identify opportunities to expand GDS Assurance scope of work
- Standardize assurance processes and leverage best practices
- Develop high-performing teams through delegation, coaching, performance reviews, feedback and training
- Use technology and tools to improve service delivery and share knowledge
- Contribute to technical and soft-skills training
- Participate in recruitment, diversity and inclusion, training and other organizational initiatives
Requirements
What you’ll need- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAI) with 5-6 years of post-qualification relevant experience
- Alternatively, qualified ACCA / CPA with 7-8 years of post-qualification relevant experience
- Articleship with other top or mid-tier accounting firms
- Experience in a mid- or top-tier accounting firm focused on external or assurance reviews/matters
- Alternatively, experience in an MNC or larger Indian company, preferably within a shared service environment
- Experience with Big 4 firms’ Indian and global practices
- Expert knowledge of Indian accounting and assurance standards
- Knowledge of UK GAAP or US GAAP and international assurance standards is an added advantage
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Effective interpersonal, risk management, facilitation and presentation skills
- Project management, leadership, coaching, counselling and supervisory skills
- Ability to quickly form strong working relationships with colleagues in India and global teams
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office is ideally desired
- Interest in business and commerciality is ideally desired
