About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and oversee corporate finance and valuation engagements for financial services clients
  • Manage client assignments from inception through completion
  • Ensure high-quality delivery, regulatory compliance, and adherence to project timelines
  • Collaborate with client management and internal audit teams on financial reporting, transaction analysis, and strategic initiatives
  • Advise management on improving business performance and maximizing value
  • Lead business valuations for M&A, financial reporting, tax purposes, and strategic advisory
  • Manage valuation of intangible assets including brands, deposit intangibles, customer relationships, licenses, patents, and technology
  • Cultivate client relationships, identify business opportunities, and expand EYP service capabilities
  • Mentor, develop, and supervise junior team members
  • Monitor industry advancements, regulatory updates, and valuation practices and integrate insights into client offerings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field and at least 5 years of related business valuation work experience; or a graduate degree and at least 4 years of related business valuation work experience
  • Advanced understanding of corporate finance principles, business analysis, and strategic advisory
  • Proficient in developing financial models independently
  • Demonstrated success in resolving complex problems and challenging projects
  • Significant experience in business valuation, corporate finance, or financial advisory within the financial services sector
  • In-person teaming at a client site or EY office a minimum of 60% of the time or on average 3 days a week
  • Reside in or be within a commutable distance to the office location
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary
  • Prior experience in valuation and corporate finance within a professional services or Big 4 environment (ideally)
  • Extensive background in the financial services industry (ideally)
  • Advanced financial modeling expertise (ideally)
  • Progress towards or completion of the CFA designation (ideally)
  • Proficiency with artificial intelligence tools and emerging technologies relevant to valuation and corporate finance (ideally)
  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage complex, cross-jurisdictional engagements (ideally)
  • Knowledge of firm-approved AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot (ideally)
