About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conceptualize, design, develop, deploy and maintain complex technology solutions for client business problems
- Support cloud and on-premises platform analytics and data engineering projects
- Design and evolve modern data warehousing solutions and data integration build-outs
- Create design specifications, documentation, data migration mappings and transformations
- Define robust ETL processing for structured and unstructured data
- Create data marts and self-service OLAP capabilities for decision analytics reporting
- Evaluate and select data warehousing tools for business intelligence, data population, data management, metadata management and warehouse administration
- Design, develop and test workflows in ETL tool environments
- Provide technical guidance to data warehouse and business intelligence developers
- Coordinate data governance, data harvesting, cloud implementation strategy, privacy and security initiatives
- Manage data orchestration, ingestion, ETL and reporting architecture across on-premises and cloud platforms
- Assist with performance tuning of ETL and database processes
- Collaborate with technical architects, product and business SMEs, backend developers and solution architects
- Work in an onshore-facing capacity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 9 years of total experience, with 6+ years in data warehousing/business intelligence
- 6+ years of professional experience creating and implementing data warehouses on client engagements
- Strong knowledge of data architecture, staging and reporting schemas, data models and cutover strategies
- Experience with medium to complex on-premises-to-cloud migrations using AWS, Azure or GCP
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with Azure database offerings, including relational, NoSQL and data warehouse
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Kafka, Azure Data Explorer, Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Analysis Services and Databricks preferred
- Minimum 3 years of database design, modelling and integration experience with relational data sources
- Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, OBIEE, Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, MicroStrategy or SSAS Cubes
- Understanding of BI and data warehousing best practices, analysis, visualization and current trends
- Experience with SDLC and product development practices
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree in computer science or related field required
- Advanced degree or equivalent business experience preferred
- Hands-on data engineering experience building analytical data records and manipulating/analyzing large volumes of data
- Minimum 10 to 12 years of relevant work experience in a Big Four or technology/consulting setup
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to mentor team members
- Willingness to travel extensively and work on client sites or practice office locations
