About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage engagement delivery for financial accounting and reporting and GAAP conversions
- Provide advice and assist client teams with accounting change, including first-time IFRS adoption, revenue recognition, and lease accounting
- Develop accounting policy manuals and technical accounting memorandums
- Identify and develop business opportunities and manage accounts
- Lead a team of 7–10 team members, including engagement PMO activities
- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders, business accounting teams, and internal partners to resolve issues
- Coach junior team members and encourage technical excellence and learning
- Review work performed by team members
- Integrate with other EY service lines on multidisciplinary projects
- Develop and deliver accounting technical training
- Direct daily fieldwork progress and inform Supervisors of engagement status
- Participate in hiring team members, structured learning paths, and operations mentoring
- Apply accounting concepts, professional standards, and EY FAAS Policy Manual guidelines to moderately difficult and complex client situations
Requirements
What you’ll need- CA, ACCA (UK), or CPA
- 5+ years relevant experience
- Expert knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, or UK GAAP
- Experience filing 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K with the SEC, or experience as part of a listed company's corporate finance team handling quarterly and annual financial filings to stock exchanges
- Extensive experience preparing and consolidating financial statements
- Experience with GAAP conversions and adoption of new accounting standards
- Experience drafting accounting policies and technical memorandums
- Technical accounting advisory experience on complex topics, including financial instruments, deferred tax, business combinations, consolidation, and debt/equity
- Ability to explain and manage complex accounting and financial reporting issues
- Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge
- Prior experience and knowledge of financial reporting activities
