Key responsibilities & impact

Lead SAP Variant Configuration workstreams from planning and design through testing, deployment, and stabilization
Facilitate client workshops to assess current-state processes, define future-state requirements, and recommend SAP S/4HANA best practices
Design and oversee end-to-end variant configuration solutions, including configurable materials, classes, characteristics, configuration profiles, and object dependencies
Lead product modeling and configuration governance
Guide Advanced Variant Configuration design in SAP S/4HANA and evaluate fit with classic Variant Configuration
Coordinate integration across Sales and Distribution, Production Planning, Materials Management, Product Lifecycle Management, pricing, engineering, and manufacturing processes
Oversee functional specifications, configuration, data conversion, unit testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, cutover, and post-production support
Manage onshore and offshore team members, project milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, and delivery quality
Cultivate client stakeholder relationships and communicate solution decisions, project status, risks, and results
Identify opportunities for additional services and lead specific RFP responses
Travel regularly to meet client needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree (4-year degree)
Typically 4–6 years of relevant experience in SAP-enabled manufacturing, product configuration, engineering, or order-to-production environments
Minimum 3 years of hands-on SAP Variant Configuration experience
Experience designing and configuring configurable materials, classes, characteristics, class types, configuration profiles, object dependencies, constraints, procedures, preconditions, and selection conditions
Experience integrating Variant Configuration with SAP Sales and Distribution, Production Planning, Materials Management, pricing, bills of material, routings, and master data
Proven ability to lead teams to deliver project outcomes within critical deadlines
Experience managing an SAP project or workstream and project-based team members in manufacturing or engineer-to-order environments
Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, client service, and technical writing skills
Flexibility and willingness to travel; estimated travel 40–60%
Consulting experience, SAP transformation leadership, and cross-functional delivery experience are advantageous
Experience with SAP S/4HANA Advanced Variant Configuration is advantageous
Experience with Variant Configuration and Pricing services, SAP Commerce Cloud, CPQ solutions, or configurable-product integrations is advantageous
Experience with SAP Product Lifecycle Management, Engineering Change Management, Document Management System, product structures, classification, and engineering-to-manufacturing integration is advantageous
Experience supporting make-to-order, engineer-to-order, assemble-to-order, or configure-to-order processes is advantageous
At least three full-cycle SAP implementations involving Variant Configuration or configurable product solutions is advantageous
SAP certification in SAP S/4HANA manufacturing, sales, product lifecycle management, or a related solution area is advantageous
