About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide clients with tax guidance and consulting related to tax accounting and planning, including internal restructurings, acquisitions, dispositions, carve-out financial statements, GAAP conversions between US GAAP and IFRS, share-based compensation, financial statement restatements, and balance sheet remediation of tax accounts
- Assist companies with all aspects of tax provision preparation
- Review tax provision processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Enhance the control environment
- Assess tax risk and control environments, including beyond the boundaries of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404
- Identify, prioritize, monitor, and remediate key risks
- Manage large engagements and build relationships with clients and colleagues
- Work as part of EY's Financial Services Organization serving the global financial services marketplace, including Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction
Requirements
What you’ll need- A bachelor's degree in a related field, supported by significant tax or legal experience; MST, MAcc, or JD/LLM preferred
- Valid US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or active state bar membership
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience in professional services, tax organization, law firm, or IRS
- Broad understanding and experience with federal income taxation
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Strong ASC 740, Real Estate, and/or IAS 12 experience preferred
- Experience in corporate tax planning and compliance preferred
- Relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry with broad exposure to federal income taxation preferred
- Ability to team with and motivate others
- Skills to manage large engagements and build meaningful relationships with clients and colleagues
- Must demonstrate high ethical standards and integrity
