About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Execute transaction diligence work across multiple clients
- Assume near-independent responsibility for smaller clients
- Develop rapport with middle layers of client management
- Advise clients throughout the diligence lifecycle on drivers that increase value and reduce transaction risks and uncertainty
- Ensure compliance with risk-management strategies, plans and activities
- Identify and escalate risk issues on client assignments to the manager or supervisor
- Support knowledge-sharing efforts and improve processes for capturing and leveraging team knowledge
- Begin identifying new opportunities for existing clients and communicate them to the manager
- Network internally with peers and other firm levels to understand issues affecting clients
- Analyze financial information, projections and transaction risks
- Identify deal issues and advise on valuation and structuring considerations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Chartered Accountant qualification
- 1–8 years of relevant post-qualification work experience
- Good academic background
- Understanding of target-company business, competitive positioning, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges
- Experience analyzing historic and current financial information
- Experience analyzing projections and assumptions
- Ability to identify deal issues, assess transaction impact and advise on ways to address issues
- Experience conducting transaction-risk analysis and developing mitigation approaches
- Understanding of transaction structures and structuring issues
- Strong analytical skills
- Good written and oral communication, including report writing
- Ability to build client relationships
- Due diligence experience as part of an M&A team in industry or Big 3 CA firms, or audit and assurance experience in Big 4 CA firms with due diligence exposure
- Industry experience in data analysis, MIS and project handling
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple client departments while following commercial and legal requirements
- Practical approach to solving complex issues and delivering insightful, practical solutions
